Role and Core Product
Creative Lead / Senior digital and visual designer, for UI and UX; working with senior management, clients and development teams to deploy the global site for Upfield. Taking the site from concept, design iterations, through to deployment. Upfield are the largest plant-based consumer products company in the world, containing multiple household brands such as Flora and Flora Pro-Activ. Upfield had a new visual identity designed, and the site needed clear visual alignment. Built on a customised CMS allowed for continuous updates and expansion. The site’s core objectives are to be a hub of information for customers, investors and various other users.
Process
Working with clients and stakeholders to initially map out core customer/user journeys and core functions of the site. Then, to meet the quick deadlines, we designed basic wireframes (internally) and took them directly to high fidelity designs – we then worked collaboratively with the client to add and update content, and therefore designed the site iteratively. We worked in an “agile methodology” with development teams to quickly deploy the site and iterative updates. As further content was established, the site grew through subsequent phases
Integration and APIs
Several elements across the site have integration with various APIs, notably for the initial phases, integration with Greenhouse.io for the recruitment section, and customised Google Maps API for global locations and links. Along side the main site, the company intranet was designed and deployed on Microsoft Sharepoint.
